Evercraft 5 Setup & Quick Start Guide

Welcome to Market Sniper!

The following guide will walk you through initial installation and setup of the software so you can get started shopping right away.  For more in depth details, please visit the Detailed Feature Documentation link for Market Sniper.

It is HIGHLY recommended that you spend the time to read through this entire guide and really try to understand it.  Trust me, it will make your experience with this product much more enjoyable and frustration-free in the long run.

To get started with Market Sniper as soon as possible, follow this simple guide.

After Market Sniper is installed using the Macrocrafter.com launcher (see the Evercraft guide for instructions if you need them), Market Sniper has everything it needs to run.

Verify the UI

First, let's make sure the installation was a success.  Log in to Everquest, find a broker, and open up the Broker window by clicking on him/her.  You'll know if the installation worked if you see a white square in the top-left corner of the Broker window, as well as a vertical white line in the top-right and a horizontal white line along the bottom-left of the window. **IF YOU DO NOT SEE THIS** please stop and visit our forums for assistance.

Login and perform Coordinate Setup

With that out of the way, run the Macrocrafter.com Product Launcher, click the 'Start Market Sniper' button, and log in using your username and password (or use your free 5 day trial by clicking "Use Trial").  The first window you'll see is the Job Status page.  You'll notice in the Status at the bottom of the page it says 'Please run Coordinate Setup before beginning.'  That's exactly what you need to do.  FIRST, set your Broker window to the size you want it.  Click on the Coordinate Setup tab in the Market Sniper window and follow the instructions listed there.  MAKE SURE YOU DO NOT RESIZE YOUR BROKER WINDOW AFTER RUNNING COORDINATE SETUP.  If you get an error notification after trying to run Coordinate Setup, please come to the forums for assistance.

Create your shopping list

1.  Click on the Purchase Order Setup tab.  This is where you tell Market Sniper what you want to buy, how many you want to buy, and the price you want to pay.

2.  Click in the Item Name field and type in the EXACT name of an item.

3.  The next 4 fields are for setting the price.  The fields are in descending order of denomination from left to right:  Platinum, Gold, Silver, then Copper.  Set the number of each denomination to determine the overall price you want to pay (example:  1p 20g 15s 40c).

4.  Set the quantity of this item you wish to buy.  Any value is accepted as long as it isn't negative.

5.  Make sure the 'Active' field's checkbox is checked - otherwise Market Sniper will skip this item.

6.  The next 5 fields are optional additional fields that help Market Sniper narrow down the specific item you're after. This is helpful in case you're looking for an item who's name appears in several items, as is the case with most Tradeskill ingredients. Just select the appropriate value from the dropdown list.

7.  The next 2 fields are for specifying the level range of the item you're looking for.

You can enter as many items as you want this way - as you add an item, another row opens up underneath it.

Hint: if you press the Tab key while you're entering this information in, the cursor will move to the next field for you so you don't need to keep using your mouse.

Configure Job Options

When you're done adding items, it's time to set some job options.

Click on the Job Options tab.  All of the options here are, of course, optional.

If you want Market Sniper to run only for a set amount of time, click 'Use Job Timer' and tell it how long to run.

If you want Market Sniper to use your character's log file for Tell Notification, Ban Warning (not implemented yet), and intelligent purchasing (accurate delays and purchasing whole stacks), then click Set Character and select your server and character. If you do this, you need to make sure logging is enabled in EverQuest 2.

If you want Market Sniper to issue commands to EverQuest 2 after it's done, you can set that here as well.

Once you're done there, you're ready to get started!

Start shoppping!

Go back to the Job Status page -- you'll notice that the white box that was empty earlier now displays all the items you set up.  Make sure that, in EQ2, your broker window is already open and COMPLETELY UNOBSTRUCTED by any window.

Click 'Begin Job.'  You'll get a notification reminding you not to press any keys or move your mouse.  Once you click OK, Market Sniper will take over and, assuming we did everything right, start making your purchases.

Sit back and relax!  If you want to manually stop Market Sniper before it's finished, you need to either click the 'Stop Job' button (which might not always be easy), or hold down Control + Alt and press S.  Market Sniper has no Pause feature.
