Character Select
|
|
|
The character select dialog is where you choose your Server and Character name for
the character you'll be using. This information is used to ensure that the
correct log file is chosen so that we can accurately monitor your log file for certain
events.
If you are not seeing your Server and/or Character in these lists, navigate to your
EverQuest II installation folder. Double click the "cache" folder, then the
"characters" folder. You should see a list of folders with the names of the
servers on which you have characters that you have logged in to on THIS machine.
Find your server and double click the folder. Now you should see a list of
folders with the name(s) of your character(s) on the server you chose.
If you DON'T see your server or character name in these folders, then the first
thing you should do is log into the game on that character and play it for a couple
of minutes, then /camp desktop. Now check it again. If the folder(s)
still doesn't exist, you will need to add it manually. Make sure the spelling
and capitalization of your Server and Character are EXACT, and that the Character
folder is INSIDE the correct Server folder. If spelling, capitalization,
or folder structure are wrong, then it will not work and you will likely get errors
indicating that we couldn't find your log file.

Purchase Order Setup Tab
|
|
This is where you tell Market Sniper what you want to buy. This tab includes
a table where you enter the following information on each line:
1. Item Name
Enter the name (with exact spelling) of the item you wish to purchase.
2. Max purchase price
Enter in the maximum price you are willing to pay for this item by putting the quantity
of each denomination in the appropriate column.
P = Platinum
G = Gold
S = Silver
C = Copper
In the picture below, the max price for "tussah root" is 15 silver.
3. Quantity to purchase
Enter the quantity of this item you'd like to purchase. Any value is acceptable
as long as it isn't negative.
4. Active/Inactive status
Checking the box in this column tells Market Sniper to search for and purchase this
item. If it is not checked, this item will be skipped.
5. Extended Data Input
Each of the next 5 fields are dropdown lists containing all the search terms that the
Advanced Search window in-game contains. These values are here to help Market Sniper
narrow down the search to find the specific item you're looking for. Oftentimes there
are items who's name is contained in other items names (like, for instance,
a Xegonberry, who's name is also contained in 'Xegonberry Pie' for example -- see the
screenshot below). Supplying this additional data can help prevent accidentally buying
the wrong item.
6. Level Range
The next two fields describe the level range of the item you want to purchase.
Hint: if you press the Tab key while you're entering this information, the cursor
will move to the next field for you so you don't need to keep using your mouse.
You can enter as many items as you want this way. When you add an item, another
blank row opens up underneath it.
The Delete button will delete the item on that line from your list.
The Manage Purchase Order Lists button at the bottom of this window
brings up the Manage Purchase Order Lists window, which is described in detail in
Section IIa below.

|
a. Manage Purchase Order Lists
|
|
Here you can save new Purchase Order lists or load / delete existing lists.
Saved lists are useful for those who typically buy sets of the same materials over
and over again.
Create: Enter a name to save your current list as, then click
Create to save it.
Load: Select the name of a previously saved list, then click
Load to load it.
Delete Selected: Select the name of a previously saved list,
then click Delete Selected to delete the list.
Close: Close this window.

Job Options Tab
|
|
This page contains all the general options for a purchase job. It is split into
three sections:
1. During the Purchase Job
Use Job Timer: allows you to set how long you want Market
Sniper to try to purchase items. If the purchase job runs out of time before
it is finished buying items, the job will terminate.
2. Character and Log Options
This is where you tell Market Sniper which server and character you're using, and
where you set which log-related options you want to use.
Set Character button: opens up the Character Selection window,
in which you select the Server and Character you want to use with Market Sniper.
**NOTE** You have to turn logging on in game BEFORE you use Set Character, or else
your character will not show up in the Character Selection window (see section I
above). Once you've selected your character, the Character name and Server
name will show up below the Set Character button.
Ban Warning checkbox: enables a warning whenever certain
ban danger conditions are met.
Options button: brings up a window containing options for
how to react if ban danger conditions are met.
**NOTE** Ban Warning is currently disabled as this feature is still in development.
Tell Notification checkbox: enables a notification if your
character receives a private message in the game. Right-click on the checkbox
to hear a demonstration of the sound.
3. After the Purchase Job
This section allows you to set up to three commands for Market Sniper to send to
EverQuest after the completion of the purchase job, as well as whether or not to
play a sound or pop up an alert box when the job is done and all the commands have
been issued.

Tweaks Tab (Back to top) |
|
|
This page contains options that let you customize how Market Sniper works.
Market Sniper Always On Top: allows you to set whether Market
Sniper will appear on top of all other windows on your system.
Use Mini-Mode when active: allows you to put Market Sniper
in Mini-Mode when it is running a purchase job. Right-Click the checkbox to
see a demo of Mini-Mode.
Purchase Multiples: allows you to have Market Sniper attempt
to buy stacks of items when appropriate. Note that Market Sniper will only
try to do this when the quantity remaining for an item is equal to or greater than
50, and when the correct server and character is selected on the Job Options tab.
Delay between Item Purchases: allows you to tweak how many
milliseconds* Market Sniper will wait in between individual item purchases.
Increasing this value may help make Market Sniper more accurate in conditions of
lag.
**NOTE** This value is ignored when the correct server and character is selected
on the Job Options tab. In this case (for maximum accuracy) Market Sniper
reads the log for purchase notifications. Basically, it will make a purchase
and wait to see the confirmation "You have purchased xxxxxxx" in your chat window
and then immediately purchase the next item without delay.
Delay between search attempts: allows you to tweak how many
milliseconds* Market Sniper will wait in between searching for items. This setting
is strictly a user preference and has no real bearing on how lag is effected, etc.
Some users prefer it to wait longer between searches in order for Market Sniper
to appear more 'human.'
Randomize search attempt delay: allows you to introduce a
+/- 25% random factor into the search attempt delay. This also helps Market
Sniper appear more 'human.'
EverQuest II Base Path: this is the location where you have
EverQuest II installed. This is required in order to accurately locate your
log file.
* 1000 milliseconds = 1 second

Job Status Tab
|
|
This page is responsible for displaying the current purchase job's status, as well
as providing the Start and Stop buttons. It displays the details for the items it
will purchase, the status of the application, and shows which item it is currently
purchasing.
Begin Job: starts the purchase job.
Stop Job: prematurely stops the purchase job once it has
begun.
